Spatial Lenses

Is a visual exploration of the gravitational lensing phenomenon through digital video. Within this series, the mass of an unseen object mediates the curvature of visual space. The lens that is created by this curvature of space acts to magnify the visual significance of the processes being examined, such as water flowing through a stream. As the lens multiplies the phenomena a narrative unfolds as indexes are generated by the movement of material on screen. These tranquil scenes are contrasted against the accumulated sound that is multiplied along with the video, the babbling of a small brook builds upon itself into an all consuming roar that demands the viewers attention.
