Dissection is a series of 2D works that allude to the visual presentation of animation; invoking the medium’s ability to induce the sensation of temporal progression through the manipulation of still images. In the case of these works, the segmented lines that appear to dissect the figures indicate a shift in time/space. All of these temporal and spatial shifts coexist in the same picture plane creating a sense of motion as the viewer scans the image.
